The legend tells that Dionisio, son of Zeus, found a small plant with some delicate shoots. To protect it he put it inside a bird’s bone. Soon the improvised pot was too small and the young god, Baco for the Romans, changed it to a lion’s femur. The growth would not stop, so the plant ended up in the bone of a donkey were, with the time, gave its fruit: the grape. Baco, with a cheerful and curious disposition, soon discovered how to transform the fruits into a delicious beverage that was known as wine. They say that from this first cultivation emerges the capacity of this drink to provide the beings that consume it the qualities of the animals whose bones cradled it. In small amounts, the drinkers become happy like birds; with moderation, strong like lions, but in excess they become brutish as donkeys.
